Why did I start on Mounjaro? Well, I'd got to a point where I had almost no control over my eating, and consequently my weight. I reached 120kg and realized I needed to do something, as my health was suffering a lot. Although I'd seen that Mounjaro might soon be available on prescription in the UK (this was a couple of years ago), I realised it wasn't going to be soon enough for me. My doc was warning me about pre-diabetes, and as a sufferer of chronic pain in my back and legs, I really needed to lose weight.

The first thing I did was go on a low-carb diet, and I also limited my eating to between midday and 8pm. This worked well at first and I lost nearly 10kg, but after Christmas I found it harder and harder to keep the weight off. By this time I knew Mounjaro would be available on the NHS in the UK soon, so I decided to start off by going to a private pharmacy, until my doctor could prescribe it.

When UK doctors were finally able to prescribe it, my doctors had sadly decided that they would not be. By this time my treatment was going well and there was no way I was going to stop. I felt better than ever.

Christmas 2024 came round and I had to give Mounjaro a break because of the cost – I couldn't afford Christmas AND Mounjaro. A couple of months ago, I started looking for which pharmacies were doing deals – could I get my treatment any cheaper?
